"One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple." Psalm 27:4

Praying for the Lost

I've been reading The Bondage Breaker by Neil T. Anderson. Anderson offers four specific points that we can focus on while praying for those who don't know God. Here are his points along with some Bible verses and prayers to help you in praying for those who don't yet have a relationship with the Lord. Let us pray together for our friends, family members and people of every tongue, tribe and nation who have not accepted the gospel which is the Word of truth.

1) Pray for workers - Matthew 9:37-38

"The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers for the harvest." (the words of Jesus)

"But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" (the apostle Paul in Romans 10:14-15)

Oh Lord we ask you to send out laborers for the harvest. We ask you God to raise up a church with a heart for the nations. We ask you God to send people out to the ends of the earth to preach the gospel of truth, that people may hear, believe, and call on your name. Make our feet ready to bring the Word wherever you call us to go.

2. Pray that God will give them life
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." (Jesus in John 10:10)

Oh God _________ (place name of your friend or people group here) doesn't know you and is living as a slave to the enemy. Lord we ask that you would have mercy on them and give them life abundant in you. Lord we were dead in our sins and you brought life to us. We ask that you would do this for those who do not know them. Bring them Lord, from death to life.

3. Pray against thoughts raised up against the knowledge of God

Oh Lord how majestic is Your name. All the glory belongs to You. We pray that they would be able to take every though obedient to Christ that they would honor You. We pray that you would set the truth of Your word on their hearts and not allow the enemy to plant thoughts in their minds. Show yourself God. May you ARISE. May you give them a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know who you are, our Bridegroom King.

4। Pray that the eyes of the lost will be OPENED and that the truth will SET THEM FREE

"that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of WISDOM and REVELATION in the KNOWLEDGE OF HIM, having the EYES OF YOUR HEARTS ENLIGHTENED, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe..." Ephesians 1:17-19 - The prayer of the apostle Paul

"For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

Oh Jesus thank you that the truth sets us free. Lord we ask that you would give them a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know who you are. Show them Lord that you are God, the One who created them and loves them. Show them the Lord the hope that they can have in and through You. God we ask that you would enlighten the eyes of their hearts. Take off the blinders of this world, take away all the distractions that are keeping them from knowing you. Send forth your light and your truth in their hearts. For you are the way, the truth and the life. Thank you Jesus.
